Crawl out of bed and into the surf

This will be the first of many hotel profiles in the Pavones, Costa Rica area.  We'll start at the literal end of the road and work our way up.

Rancho Burica is at The End end of the road.. Guests can crawl out of bed and into the surf.  Heck, they can stumble into it.  NO other cabinas in Pavones put you this close to the beach.



To ride (on horseback, 4x4) or to walk further south than Rancho Burico, you step off the road at this hotel and continue south down the Burica peninsula.  And do that, because it's beautiful, and in wet season there is an idyllic waterfall that spills out onto the beach.

Everyone has some nickname in Pavones, and this place is the Dutch place, los Holandeses own it.  They do things right.  This place is quality.

Rancho Burica is for surfers, nature lovers, and families with children who want to let their kids roam and explore.  There is no nightlife except what you bring with you.  And if you're surfing, or want to catch the morning glow with your children, up at 5 in the morning to drink coffee, you need nothing more.

We're not going to detail how much each night for each type of room (you can visit their excellent web site about their casual hotel).  It's reasonable -- about $35 per night. They have good food.  They have everything you need, unless you need a disco.  Hot water yes, air conditioning no.

If you want to go to the end of the road in Central America, then this is it.  This is the last stop on the bus, you can catch the bus from Golfito (departs 3:00 pm) and take it until Gerrardo the driver kicks you off, and you'll be at Rancho Burica, and so happy you have arrived.
